Subject: New Medical Assist Procedures
Memo from county

Conditional Medical Assist procedures have been added for Dickinson Township to the 136 boxes (except on Box 136-104), also to the South Middleton Township 35 and 236 box areas. The procedures shall be when the 1st due ambulance company (91 or 40) is not available, the first due Fire Company is to be dispatched medical assist. Just a reminder on conditional medical assists, the EMS dispatcher will have to reproduce the incident to the Fire dispatcher who will have to view “All” or display the entire run card to get the appropriate response. These procedures shall take effect immediately. Any questions or issues let me know.

Subject: New medical assist procedures

Starting the next couple days, new medical assist procedures will be in place in the 36, 136, and 236 box areas.  Our company will be dispatched on all medical calls when the 1st due BLS company (YBEMS) is not available and the next due is sent.  Just remember to try to wait for EMS qualified personnel before responding.  The required unit response for now will be one of the engines or the mini-pumper since they carry the medical assist equipment on them.  The utility only has an AED.
